The Managing Director at Aethos Foundation will be responsible for leading the organization towards achieving its mission and strategic goals. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the fundraising, foundation's operations, including program development, financial management, and stakeholder engagement. The Managing Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the foundation's sustainability and impact.

Leadership and Strategy:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the foundation's mission and objectives internally and externally.
• Provide visionary leadership to the organization, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set long-term goals and priorities.

Operational Management:

• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of internal and external professionals, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Financial Oversight:

• Develop and manage the foundation's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, donations, and partnerships.
• Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to the Board of Directors.

Program Development:

• Design and implement impactful programs and initiatives aligned with the foundation's mission.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions to enhance outcomes.
• Foster partnerships with other organizations, stakeholders, and communities to amplify impact.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Serve as the primary spokesperson for the foundation, representing its interests to external audiences.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and community leaders.
• Communicate the foundation's vision, goals, and achievements to a wide range of stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an aerospace and/or aviation environment.
• Additional experience within a nonprofit or philanthropic organization is considered as an advantage.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent financial management and fundraising abilities.
• Exceptional communication and people skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of stakeholders.
• Commitment to the foundation's mission and values.
• Proficiency in English is necessary, Dutch is preferred and other languages are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience in program development and evaluation.
• Knowledge of the specific issues and challenges addressed by the foundation.
• Network within the aerospace sector, a plus if within the end-of-life community.

Compensation

• Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
• 24 - 40 hours per working week.
